As a partner and medical director of Instinct Holistic Medical Spa, Dr. Sarah Donahue has extensive knowledge of skin anatomy, tissue injury, and healing. Since some of the cosmetic treatments offered at the Bozeman, MT office produce small injuries to the skin to stimulate the body's natural healing response, Dr. Donahue monitors the results and the healing process of patients. She has more than a decade of experience overseeing the management of post-operative wound complications. Dr. Donahue is board certified in internal medicine.
Dr. Donahue graduated from the University of Glasgow Medical School in Glasgow, Scotland. After medical school, she participated in a mixed surgical and medical residency in general surgery, urology, orthopedics, geriatrics, ophthalmology, and emergency medicine at the Ayr Hospital in the United Kingdom and The Victoria Infirmary in Glasgow. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System/Medical College of Virginia Hospitals where she served as an assistant professor of internal medicine.
Dr. Donahue is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is a member of the British General Medical Council of the United Kingdom, and her credentials are certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates.
An expert in post-operative wound complications, Dr. Donahue also has experience overseeing the management of wound vacuums, complex pressure ulcers, tunneling infections, venous insufficiency ulcers, autoimmune skin manifestations, calciphylaxis, diabetic wounds, ischemic extremities, dry and wet gangrene, necrotizing fasciitis, cellulitis, and ostomy care.
